Authorial Narrative | Reportage | Illustration
The Flood is an experimental, silent authorial work. The project began with location drawing around the City of Worcester, in order to explore how reportage practice could inform the construction of a narrative. Do certain places invite the telling of certain stories? What official or unofficial narratives are made use of by visitors to this place? Does the geography of a place inevitably influence the shape of a story? The outcome invites the viewer to question our experience of place in postmodernity and the complex relationship between place and power.
